After three challenging years, which also presented us with many new endeavours at Haltermann Carless, 2023 was a year of new beginnings and new directions. We have embarked on new paths and aligned the company even more clearly. Many of our projects and commitments have proven worthwhile, sharpening our profile in the areas of sustainability, growth and digitalisation. It was an exciting year with forward-looking events that we would like to review with you our dear readers.
Change of ownership: HCS Group becomes part of ICIG
We are delighted that our parent company, and therefore Haltermann Carless, is now part of the International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG), a privately owned industrial holding company. We are continuing our ambitious growth plans and our clear focus on sustainability under a new umbrella.
New CEO: Peter Friesenhahn will assume CEO function
HCS Group announces changes in the management board: Peter Friesenhahn will assume role of CEO as of January 1 2024 succeeding interim CEO and CFO Peter Stubbe.
SAF cooperation with Lufthansa Group
With the jointly signed Letter of Intent for the production and supply of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) "Made in Germany", we are making an important contribution to sustainable flying. For us, this is a key technology that we are driving forward with all our energy.
Awards for our sustainability
We have once again received the Gold Award from EcoVadis. This time even with an improved overall rating. We are now among the top three per cent of chemical companies rated by EcoVadis. This shows that all our sustainability commitments are important and effective. Our production sites are all certified according to ISCC EU; in addition, the Hamburg and Speyer sites have also received ISCC PLUS certification.
Sustainable mobility
Sustainable mobility can be achieved in different ways and with different technologies. We are focussing on the development of renewable fuels and e-fuels. We already supply fuels to our customers that contain up to 100% renewable components. As a simple drop-in solution and without any engine modifications.
New: Mass-balanced Pentane
With our recently launched mass-balanced Pentane, we are increasingly supporting applications with a high need for CO2 savings. The ISCC PLUS-certified portfolio includes Cyclopentane, n-Pentane and iso-Pentane as well as Pentane blends. We are pleased to be able to support our customers on their way to greater sustainability.
Digital supply chain tracking goes live
By implementing a new software solution, we are able to recognise difficulties on transport routes in real time and react to them immediately. For us, this is another lever for increasing customer satisfaction and our delivery reliability. In future, we will focus even more on digitalisation, data networking and transparency in our supply chain.
