For Haltermann Carless, sustainability is not a buzzword, but has always been an important part of our corporate strategy. It includes not only our products, but also our processes, our production sites and our administration. We are looking at all aspects of our company in order to achieve our goal of making a holistic contribution to climate and environmental protection. Learn more about the projects we have successfully implemented and launched in 2021.
In many ways, the year 2021 was full of challenges for us. Nonetheless, we were able to successfully launch groundbreaking activities that strategically advance our key goals of Sustainability and Growth.
We are particularly proud of these initiatives:
- Go for Gold – for the second year in a row, we have received the EcoVadis Gold rating for sustainability, making a promise to our customers and partners that we are doing all we can to remain a responsible and trusted global supplier.
- Sustainability specialists – with our newly established "Corporate Development & Sustainability" department, a team of experts has been established that keeps an eye on all corporate activities along our value chains and strategically advances our transformation into a sustainable company.
- Climate-neutral aviation – we aspire to become the first commercial manufacturer of sustainable aviation fuels in Germany in order to support the aviation industry on its path to zero emissions.
- Renewable feedstock – thanks to our long-standing partnerships, we have direct and reliable access to renewable raw materials to produce bio-based products.
- Our own energy transition – since mid-2021, we have been using only electricity from certified renewable sources at our production sites in Germany and the UK.
- Investing in the future – with our new hydrogenation plant at the Speyer production site, we will provide the global market with larger Cyclopentane capacities and new product types from Q1 2022 onwards.
The aim of our many efforts? To continue to develop solutions together with you to shape a sustainable future. We look forward to this in the coming year as well. So look forward to many more blog posts!
