The construction of the new hydrogenation plant in Speyer, Germany is progressing. Haltermann Carless has now completed the distillation column, which is the highest and one of the most significant components of the new production unit.
Frankfurt a. M., August 21, 2019 - Haltermann Carless, a company of HCS Group and a leading provider of high-value hydrocarbon solutions, installed a 32 tons and 34 meters high distillation column for its new hydrogenation plant at the production site in Speyer, Germany. It took two construction cranes and one hour of overnight work to fit the column into the production unit with millimeter precision.
The distillation column is an essential component of the new hydrogenation plant as it separates byproducts from the hydrogenated hydrocarbons. As a result, new product grades of high purity can be manufactured which are increasingly demanded by the market, such as products for the printing ink, construction, pharmaceuticals and electronics industries.
Haltermann Carless is investing a mid-double-digit million euro amount in an advanced production facility at its Speyer site in Germany. Commissioning of the hydrogenation plant is scheduled for mid-2020.
