In a much-anticipated ceremony today in Manvel, Texas, HCS GROUP celebrated the start of its expansion at its first ever U.S. Manufacturing Facility.
The plant – which will be extended to enable the production of several Hydrocarbons for Specialty applications – has officially renamed as Manvel Manufacturing Center, with a skilled team of more than 30 employees now at work on the first U.S.-site of HCS GROUP.
“With the integration of our U.S. facility into our global production network, we have strategically expanded our growing worldwide base,” said Uwe Nickel, CEO and Chairman of the Group’s Executive Committee. “Our official inauguration in Manvel signifies two things: that HCS GROUP has become a truly global operating company, and that Haltermann Carless is now also a truly American manufacturer.”
“The Manvel U.S. Manufacturing Facility is an important step forward in HCS Group’s strategy followed since its foundation from two of the world oldest chemical companies Haltermann and Carless. It is strengthening our position in all of our key markets,” Uwe Nickel continued. “It enables us to grow our already existing presence in America and to be closer to our U.S. customers and key supplier partners. At the same time, the expanded industrial capacity gives us more flexibility to increase production across our Business Lines, especially in the area of Specialties, to meet global demand. The U.S. facility is good news for the overall HCS GROUP enterprise, as this increased production capacity creates global growth opportunities across the company and throughout our supply chain.”
HCS GROUP announced plans for the multi-million dollar U.S. Manufacturing Facility in 2015, and construction had begun at the Manvel Site. The market forecast indicates an increasing demand for service driven product offerings in many areas where HCS is active over the coming years in North America alone.
Uwe Nickel, Daniel Haamann, the Operations Manager North America of the Group and his team on site in Manvel were joined at the ceremony today by local leaders as the Mayor of the City of Manvel Delores Martin, Senator Larry Taylor, State Representative Ed Thompson, Brazoria County Judge Matt Sebesta, Deputy Councel General of the Federal Republic of Germany Bernd Reindl, Johanna McWilliams from the Alvin-Manvel Chamber of Commerce, and Alvin Community College President Dr. Christal Albrecht. The community-wide event convened under the theme “Haltermann Carless goes USA” and culminated in the ceremonial placement of the official placard on site and the ribbon-cutting in Manvel.
The Manvel Manufacturing Facility is a significant step in establishing the Haltermann Carless brand in the United States, one of the oldest brands in the world of Chemistry, and bringing European expertise and heritage to Texas. In addition to the new Manvel manufacturing site the production network has well-established sites with a long European tradition in Hamburg (Germany), Speyer (Germany), Harwich (UK), Gunness (UK) and Bourgtheroulde (France).
